WHAT IS A SILHOUTTE SOFT THREAD LIFT?
The Thread Lift is a "soft surgical" procedure which involves using single dissolvable sutures to reposition lax skin and restore collagen.

Silhouette Soft is the most advanced "thread" used for this procedure. Unlike barbed threads, it comprises of small cones secured along the thread, which fuse deeply into tissues beneath the skin to lift the skin and secure it into a lifted position. The thread and cones are made of PLLA (Polylactic Acid) which naturally degrades beneath the skin, whilst simultaneously stimulating collagen. The result is natural looking, long lasting and highly effective.

HOW DOES A THREAD LIFT WORK?
LIFTS
Silhouette Soft threads are single surgical sutures or "threads' which are passed beneath the skin and used to lift lax or sagging skin. They are biodegradable polymer threads made from PLLA (Polylactic Acid) which gradually dissolve under the skin, leaving it lifted and supported. Threads can be used to lift jowls, the lower face, neck and upper eyes.
SMOOTHES
By lifting and repositioning lax skin, deep lines, wrinkles and skin folds around the mouth and lower face are smoothed.
As the threads degrade over a period of approximately 9 months, collagen is formed which continues to support the skin in this lifted position and enhance skin quality. Immediate improvement can be seen following the procedure but gains continue over the following months, with results lasting up to 2 years.
STIMULATES
Silhouette Soft threads gradually degrade over a period of approximately 9 months. Both the inflammatory reaction caused by the procedure plus the presence of PLLA and glycolic polymer of the thread promote the formation of type 1 collagen which makes up 90% of the protein compound of human tissues. Natural collagen formation decreases with age, most drastically following menopause. Replacing lost collagen revitalises the skin and improves skin quality to give better skin integrity and visibly smoother skin.
