Menopause and peri-menopause can be a difficult time for some women and a lack of appropriate management can leave women feeling hopeless about the impact on their lives. Hot flushes, mood swings, joint pains, poor sleep, weigh gain and low libido can have significant ramifications on home and work lives.

A Menopause Specialist is a healthcare professional who has additional knowledge and skills, assessing and treating women with complex needs such as multiple treatment failures, POI, complex medical problems, high risk cancer genes or hormone dependant cancer. They can also help a women to find the most effective treatments to manage the symptoms of peri-menopause and improve their health and wellbeing.
Our Menopause Specialist, Dr Schachinger is member of the British Menopause Society and is happy to advise on both medical and natural alternatives to HRT. Dr Schachinger follows national guidelines to explore the most effective treatments and works with the patient to develop a tailored care plan to effectively manage the symptoms of menopause.
Can I access this service?
Any patient who believes they are experiencing symptoms of menopause can access this service.
Some patients with particularly complex needs, may be referred on to a more appropriate service.
The service is strictly for menopause and not a general hormone therapy service, therefore if you are not experiencing menopause, please consult your GP for the most appropriate referral.

The first step for all new patients visiting the clinic for menopause specialist services. A full assessment will be undertaken and an initial care plan developed. Cost includes the prescription charge if a prescription is required.
Our Menopause Specialists are here to review your treatment whenever needed. Cost includes the prescription charge if a prescription is required. Investigations are subject to individual cost of required.
Blood tests may be required to establish the diagnosis of menopause or exclude other health conditions. Price includes a follow up appointment; with the option of a telephone follow up or in-clinic follow up, depending on your preference.
Mirena Coils, IUD's, implants can be fitted in clinic for the treatment of menopause. Please consult with our Specialist Doctor to discuss.
If you need a prescription re-issued without change, you do not need to book a follow up, simply select the option to issue a repeat prescription.
