Dermal fillers are a hyaluronic acid gel based product that is injected under the skin for the purpose of adding volume, structure or smoothing skin folds and creases. This is most useful for areas in the mid and lower face, such as cheeks, around the mouth, lips and chins.

Wrinkle injections are a prescription only drug used to reduce movement in the muscles which in turn reduces the lines and wrinkles they cause. This is most commonly used in the upper face such as around the eyes, between the eyebrow and across the forehead.

Our consultations are free. We will complete a full assessment and make our recommendations. You are then free to consider our recommendations and return for treatment if you wish.

Results vary from person to person and between brands. We use Teosyal and expect results to last an average of between 6-12 months. Results often last longer in less active areas such as the cheeks and less time in active areas such as around the mouth. If you are particularly active, have al ot of muscle mass or a faster metabolism or any other reason (ie hyperthyroidism) then results may last significantly less time.

We pride ourselves on the natural looking results we achieve. We tailor each treatment to the patient and do not adhere to prescribed trend such as "8 point face lifts" for this reason. By using our expert judgement and only using treatments in a way that is sympathetic to the anatomy, we can make you look fresh and well rested without looking over-done.

Yes! At the Medical Skin Clinic we feel passionately that only Healthcare Professionals should practice non-surgical procedures. All of our procedures are done by Doctors and Nurses who have undergone specialist training in medical aesthetics and complication management. 

The drug used to reduce movement in the muscles of the face does so by breaking down the receptors that tell the muscle to contract. These receptors repair over a course of approximately 12 weeks and you will see the gradual return of movement over this time. Appointments are most commonly scheduled 12 weeks apart but this can vary depending on the metabolism of the individual. 

The treatments required to perform a non-surgical facelift vary greatly between individuals so it is impossible to advise this without a full assessment in person. Most procedures cost circa £500-£2500 depending on the needs of the patient. We recommend attending a free consultation for an accurate assessment.

We are fully insured. We are also regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to uphold the highest possible standards. All of our medical professionals also hold indemnity insurance and are subject to regulation by their Professional bodies (GMC and NMC).

Whilst we take every precaution to reduce pain, including the use of topical and injectable lidocaine, it wouldn't be fair to say that dermal fillers are completely pain free. That said, many express that they feel pressure rather than pain and the skill of the Clinician is vital to reduce pain. Lips are commonly the more sensitive area whilst very few are concerned with areas such as the cheeks or chin.

Within reason; dermal fillers can be used anywhere on the face where volume has been lost or there is a depression or crease in the skin. A good Clinician will be aware of the safety areas to avoid and speak openly with the patient about the best approach to treatment. The most common areas to be treated are the temples, cheeks, lips, jawline, chin and lines around the mouth.

There are 2 ways of injecting dermal fillers; with needles or with a a cannula. The cannula is considered safer for some areas and can help reduce the risk of bruising as it reaches further than a needle with one insertion point, and has a blunt tip that can push past blood vessels rather than pierce them. Needles are still commonly used for deep injections such as the cheeks and chin, for very superficial injections such as scars and fine lines and at points of finer details such as the lips. In experienced hands, studies do not show a significant difference in safety outcomes between the 2.
